One of the first things we notice about any other person is their smile. A wide, happy grin conveys trust, warmth, and friendliness. Plenty of studies show that people who smile and are happy do better in their careers, have better relationships with colleagues, and enjoy a more fulfilling social life. But what if you don’t smile because you’re ashamed of how your teeth look? Well, one solution that might be perfect for you is dental veneers.
Dental veneers are a minimally invasive type of treatment that gives patients a beautiful, natural-looking smile. They will have you grinning every day, everywhere. Here at Triangle Dentistry, we love helping our patients and community enjoy healthier, more beautiful smiles. We have the expertise and the artistic vision to give you that beautiful smile you have always desired.
What are Dental Veneers?
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are most commonly made out of porcelain thanks to their stain-resistant properties and their natural white appearance. But even veneers that are not made out of porcelain will still give the appearance of brilliant white teeth as these shells are designed to cover the very front of one’s teeth, serving as a beautiful dental facade.
The goal with veneers isn’t to be a complete replacement for one’s natural teeth. Rather, here, we take teeth that are healthy in structure but have an unattractive enamel due to genetics, certain product staining, or something else, and we cover that name with the veneers. In addition to providing a whiter smile, veneers can also improve the spacing between teeth and help balance out the overall shapes and proportions of one’s smile. Learn who is a good candidate for dental veneers.
Unlike dentures which will need replacing over the years, veneers are fairly permanent additions that can last decades before any intensive work or replacement will be needed. Long-lasting, gorgeous, and strong smile… is it any wonder why veneers have become one of the most popular dental procedures?
Get Dental Veneers Done Quick
Once you’re ready for veneers, the process will go pretty quickly. We will make an appointment with you where impressions of your teeth are taken. These will be sent to the lab where the impressions get processed and perfectly-sized veneers for your teeth are created. This work sometimes takes just a few days and a week at most before we will get the finished product back in our office.
In the meantime, we can have temporary veneers installed across your teeth as you wait. If you choose to have the temporary veneers, then we will also complete the enamel removal during this first visit. Otherwise, we can schedule it for when your permanent veneers come in.
Removing the enamel is considered the hard part of veneer work. Once we remove your natural enamel, there is no way for us to put it back on. Your new custom veneers will take their place. Enamel removal involves filing down the very front part of the enamel and creating a nice place where the veneers can adhere. The veneers will then serve as a replacement enamel and in the event you need new veneers, the old ones will be uninstalled and the new ones put exactly back against the same facade.
When You Want the Best, Go to the Best
We like to describe veneers like teeth as no two are exactly alike. Your veneers will be fashioned to match your teeth but to look and feel superior to them. But in order to get the best effects, you need to go to the best. Who you choose as your dentist and dental team matters. It does take experience and a dedication to quality to create a set of veneers best suited to one’s features.
Your dental team can also guide you in how to take proper care of your veneers. Remember, these dental features will last for decades but not forever. Good care will make the difference in just how long yours will last.
